The stadium which is situated at Maikunkele is being constructed at a cost of US $6.6m. The immediate past governor of the state, Dr. Babangida Aliyu, started the project in 2013 but could complete before the expiration of his tenure.

“We have been on this project for more than two years now, but because of the paucity of funds, we could not continue with the initial proposed stadium”, said Mr. Alhaji.

According to Alhaji Baba Sheshi, Director of Sports, Niger Ministry of Sports Development, the 15,000 capacity stadium has space for future expansion. The development contract was awarded to a Chinese firm, Sun Way Steel Building Company, based in Abuja.

The stadium will be constructed with more steel concentration and reinforced with concrete for best durability. It will be developed in three phases. The first phase will be the main bowl, the second phase will be for indoors and the third phase will be for hotels, which will be constructed by interested investors.

Why China Will Rule The World in 2025

Under the Clinton's Presidency, Chinese domination of the PHD programs in the US *became a national security issue.*

*They will research, defend and return to China and set business to rivals American business and effortus.*

Here is the result.

*"On Made In China 2025.*

On several occasions I run across these Chinese kids here in Georgia Tech, what surprises me is the type of courses they study.

*Almost all of them under Chinese government scholarship* here to study in *Americas best universities are studying courses that have to do with the future.*

They study artificial intelligence, systems science and engineering, and hard core courses for tommorows World, *their social lives are zero and they always hold sophisticated telephones.* _Very suprizing, but China is a country that thinks ahead and every Chinese is a potential suspect._

*Have you ever heard of the concept, made in China 2025?* It is Chinese Development blueprint that had sent fear around the world.

*It is meant to transform China from a labor intensive economy that makes toys, cloths, pharmaceutical to one that engineers advanced products like robots electric cars, and space explorations.*

The Chinese are believed to be the most determined species of the human race.

*Once they set their minds to achieve a goal nothing stops them.*

Earlier today, I listened to a commentary where the presenter clearly stated that the Chinese state would not mind stealing technology and intellectual property just to meet their goal.

I also read elsewhere, that *Chinese kids are sent in droves to study unique courses like artificial intelligence, information systems, system science, robotic engineering, systems engineering in American schools.* Surprisingly this is a deliberate state policy. *You never see a Chinese student on scholarship studying arts, social sciences or religion.*

What is most troubling is that they study these courses in America and United Kingdom top ivy leagues. *They are here on full state sponsored scholarships.*

While the economies of the world including the United States are exporting production distribution and exchange in an era of globalization, *China is pursuing an agenda of localizing production.*

*They promote a policy to get almost 70 percent of their production value chain domiciled locally.*

*This is very dangerous because in the future the entire world will answer to China in terms of production*.

*My concern with China is how can a country and a people get it so right? Always ahead of the rest.*

*Always scheming at a time our own kids are holidaying and eating barbecue in foreign restaurants.*

The more I study the Chinese, the more I fall in love with these guys. *They have leaders that think.*

*They have leaders that plan for tommorow* . *More interesting, even children as young as five years in China know in every transaction they have to eat up their opponents or be eaten.*

The big question: *Can we ever have a country built on values? Unfortunately* , this is our biggest handicap in Nigeria. *Our leaders think only of themselves. Selfish and greedy, and some of our young people think only of what they can scoop out of these greed.*

*Vision 2020 we planned, this is 2019, nothing to write home about. Even the government themselves are busy politicking and killing themselves with no regard to attain the goals of vision 2020. Open a discussion with a federal minister on how his ministry plans to meet the vision 2020 goals he has no idea what you are talking about.*

Our hospitals are still consulting clinics, women still give birth at home without medical support, our roads in disrepair, our schools abandoned *and our politicians clueless* .
_Is there hope for our country that we can ever plan and execute with precision like the Chinese?_

*Sometime I wonder, do we embrace the Chinese and be recolonized or do we continue to align with the west?*

*These young Chinese kids in Western schools studying robotics and artificial intelligence are the ones to compete with our own kids 20 years from now at a time our educational system and universities are dead and lecturers still going on strike.*

*I fear for my country and ours future, to be candid I fear! -* "

Interesting Facts you did not know about Ahmadu Bello

Sir AHMADU BELLO is still venerated by millions of Nigerians. The largest university in West Africa and the second largest in Africa is named after him while his picture is graciously perched on one of Nigeria's high currencies -the 200 naira note.

A descendant of UthmanDanFodio, who is still an idol to millions of Nigerians today. Though, millions of Nigerians, especially those from the South-East region (the Ibos) may still despise him.

Has the Nigerian nation learnt anything from history? Why was he jailed? Oh, did you know he was born on a June 12? What were his achievements? Why do his people love him so much? Why has he generatedso much hatred in the minds of some others? Is there anything we can pick from history and make Nigeria great again? In few words, I will adumbrate what you may not know about Alhaji (Sir) Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto and Premier of Northern Nigeria.First, let me share with you some of his quotes:“Nigeria: the ‘mistake of 1914′.”- .“The Ibos are more or less a type of people whose desire is mainly to dominate everybody. If they go to a village, or town, they want to monopolize everything in that area. If you put them in a labour camp as a labourer, within a year, they will try to emerge as the headman of that camp.”- Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto and the Premier of the Northern Region of Nigeria. 1957......................................................................................................................................"I will allow Sir Tafawa Balewa to go and become Prime Minister and lead the unbelievers of the South whilst I will stay in the North and lead the faithful."- Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto and the Premier of the Northern Region of Nigeria, 1960......................................................................................................................................“Here in the Northern Nigeria we have people of many different races, tribes and religions who are knit together to common history, common interest and common ideas; the things that unite us are stronger than the things that divide us. I always remind people of our firmly rooted policy of religious tolerance. We have no intention of favouring one religion at the expense of another. Subject to the overriding need to preserve law and order, it is our determination that everyone should have absolute liberty to practice his belief according to the dictates of his conscience…”- SirAhmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto and the Premier of the Northern Region of Nigeria.“I am not unaware that I have often been a controversial figure. I have been accused of lack of nationalism and political awareness because I considered that independence must wait until a country has the resources to support and make a success of independence. I have been accused of conservatism because I believe in retaining all that is good in our old traditions and customs and refusing to copy all aspects of other alien civilizations. I have been accused of many things, but the views of others have never made me deviate from the path which I am certain is the one which will benefit my people and country. I have always based my actions on my inward convictions, on my conscience and on the dictates of my religion”– Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto and the Premier of the Northern Region of Nigeria. "No, let us understand our differences. I am a Muslim and a Northerner. You are a Christian, an Easterner. By understanding our differences, we can build unity in our country.”- Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto and the Premier of the Northern Region of Nigeria to Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, the Owelle of Onitsha and the Premier of the Eastern Region of Nigeria.“You must do your duty but my safety is in the hands ofGod.”- Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto and the Premier of the Northern Region of Nigeria to Major Patrick Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu, leader of the January, 15th1966 carnage, 1965.“You are unique in that we stand at the meeting point of two of the major cultural system of the world. Islamic culture from the East and Christian culture from the West, and meeting in the presence of a third culture, that of the ancient state and empires of African itself. Our task is to bring about a dialogue between these two cultures and fit them to Africa, interpreting one of the other to the mutual benefit of all. We should introduce Western ideas and technologies where necessary but it must be without disrupting our existing spiritual, cultural and social values.”- Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto and the Premier of the Northern Region of Nigeria.(From his speech while being made the Chancellor of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria on 23rd November 1963).“They say that I am proud and impatient. I am certainly proud, for I have much to be proud of, and not the least the trust that God has given me to lift up our people from their primitive conditions into the light of life and the happiness of contentment. But I am not proud in the arrogant sense, for I know that I am merely an instrument carrying out God’s will and pleasure.”- Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto and the Premier of the Northern Region of Nigeria. Now, the HARD FACTS!!!1. Later, he was put in charge of the Sokoto Province to oversee 47 districts.17. At various times, he made inflammatory statements about the Ibos as he once referred to them as the ‘Jews of Nigeria’ whose sole purpose is to dominate wherever they find themselves.31. In 1959, Queen Elizabeth II (b.1926) made him a Knight of the British Empire (KBE), and that explains the‘Sir’ in his title.32. In 1962, he became Pioneer Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria.33. He founded the Bank of the North (now Unity Bank).34. He founded the Northern Nigerian Development Company.35. He established the 16,000-seater Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.36. He established the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna (the only military university in Nigeria)37. He established the University of Northern Nigeria, which stretched from Samaru in Kaduna State to Funtua in Katsina State, on the 4th of October, 1962 now known as Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.38. By the beginning of 1966, it was quite clear that the Sardauna was one of the most powerful figures in the country, and many believed that he was actually the most powerful, even much more powerful than the Prime Minister, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa.39. His party, Northern People Congress (NPC), held sway over 29 million out of 55 million Nigerians.40. On his way to Umrah (the Muslim lesser pilgrimage), he received a letter with threats to kill him.41. The letter was said to have stated: “We have arranged to kill you and the Prime Minister (Alhaji Tafawa Balewa).”42. As a devout Muslim, the Sardauna believed that giving his life in the service of Northern Nigeria was worth the sacrifice and that death was a certain end.43. He later said of the threat: “Don’t worry, continue to get useful information. I know what to do.”44. On the morning of 15th January, 1966, armed soldiers, led by Major Patrick Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu, arrived at his residence at Lugard House, Kaduna, with the message of death.45. He told his family to stay away in safety but they would have none of that. They all trooped behind him as he came out of the family quarters and in a matter ofseconds, he was surrounded by the soldiers led by Nzeogwu who fired at his babanriga. And immediately, blood sputtered from the point of impact through the beard on his face.46. At that point, his first and eldest wife, Hafsatu, threw herself at him in a final embrace. They were both shot.47. He was believed to have been killed instantly when a bullet penetrated his spinal cord.48. Brave till the very end, he had faced the soldiers and introduced himself as the Sardauna of Sokoto and Premier of the Northern Region.49. He once referred to Nigeria as the ‘mistake of 1914′ but he later worked for and gave his best for the new nation of Nigeria.50. He died leaving £10 in his bank account. Equivalent of 5,000 naira in today’s currency exchange.

Bill Gates Point Out where opportunity Is

People who learn science will be able to tackle the issues that Gates thinks are most important, like global disease and the need to create a new energy system.

Bill Gates said on Tuesday 13/02/2018 at a discussion with Lin-Manuel Miranda that he thinks future entrepreneurs should go into science.People with an interest in science will be able to tackle many of the issues that Gates thinks are most important, like global disease and the need to create a new energy system."The more you can learn the science, the more you will see where the opportunity is," he said.

One thing Bill Gates is known to be good at is spotting opportunity.

His vision of the emerging opportunities in the world of computers spurred him to drop out of Harvard, Gates said on Tuesday in a discussion of his and Melinda Gates' annual letter.

The pair talked with Lin-Manuel Miranda at Hunter College on Tuesday, and explained that the opportunity to directly improve a huge number of lives determined the Gates Foundation's focus on education and global health.

So it's worth listening to the advice Gates gave in response to a question about what future entrepreneurs should learn about.

Gates' answer: Go into science.

"The more you can learn the science, the more you will see where the opportunity is," he said.

Specifically, Gates thinks people should look at areas of the world where significant innovation is going to be needed in the near future to help humanity deal with coming challenges.

"If your talents take you toward science or programming, advances in biology or energy breakthroughs, those kinds of deep areas are going to be the biggest source of change," he said.

Gates said the challenges that he considers most important include global disease and the need to develop a new energy system for the planet. The answers to those problems will come from scientific research.

Personally, Gates said, he was lucky that software engineering grabbed his interest. He hired people to do the required marketing and sales, but it was his interest that allowed him to see the opportunity in the first place.

"If you have an inkling that science grabs you ... that's where a lot of the opportunity comes from," he said.

How To Raise A Well Behaved Children

A father’s influence goes to the fourth generation after him. Whitney Houston’s parents Emily and John Houston divorced when she was at kindergarten. Together with her lover, Bobby Brown, Whitney smoked crack in the presence of their 5 year old daughter, Bobbi Kristina. At 22, Bobbi died of drug abuse…her mother Whitney died at 48 on similar grounds. Great careers and more importantly, great lives lost due to weak fatherhood.

While there is little you can do about your ancestors, there is something that you can do about your descendants. One thing that prevents a man from being a good father is that he hasn’t completed being a boy. To be in your children’s’ memory tomorrow, you have to be in their lives’ today. Having children doesn’t make you a father. Raising them does.

There are many of us who were raised up in unstable families but we don’t have to pass it on to our children. We don’t have to fight in the presence of our children. We can choose to shield their emotions from our disputes as adults. To a large extent, you are a product of your early relationships

Unstable parents create insecure children. Stable parents raise stable children. Children need affection (hugs,), attention (listening) and affirmation (positive words), every day. When a man loves his wife, it creates security and stability. The best gift a father can give his children is to love their mother. Children learn how to handle feelings, loses, failure and conflicts at home.

Regrettably, parenting can neither be delegated nor suspended for a while as we work for the ring of fame and fortune. The growth of children is irreversible. Like a young tree, it takes the bends directed by the gardener, so is the life of a child. You can’t shape it in adulthood; you can’t pick it from where you left after you reach the top in your career pursuits. It’s always easier to model young boys than to rehabilitate grown up men.

If you invest in your child, you don’t have to invest for your child. Children require presence not presents. No amount of gifts and meeting financial obligations can replace your personal presence. Any written will can be torn in a few years after the demise of the writer of the will. The only sure inheritance that you can leave behind is the investment you make in your child not for your child.

More important, We also have to pray for our children against peer pressure or external influence.

Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso has kicked off his campaign in Anambra

Ahead of the 2019 presidential election, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso has kicked off his campaign with a visit to Anambra

The senator met with a large group of his supporters in the state and urged them to support his bid which he says was informed by the economic meltdown and killings in the country

Kwakwaso expressed confidence that he would win the presidential race as long as he is able to emerge victorious at the APC primary election

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso (APC-Kano Central) has kicked off his 2019 presidential campaign with a visit to Anambra on Thursday, February 8, according to New Telegraph reports.

During his visit to the southeast state, Kwakwaso, who is also a former governor of Kano state, met with the Hausa community in the state and the leadership of his group in the state, the Kwakwaso Movement, which is led by Eddy Ndiche.

On arrival in the state, Kwankwaso also paid a courtesy call to the traditional ruler of Ogidi, Igwe Alex Onyido, who reportedly gave him a royal blessing.

The senator then moved to Ndiche’s house, where he noted that his first hurdle would be to emerge victorious at the primaries of the All Progressive Congress, as he addressed his group. To this end, he asked for support to achieve his goal.

The APC chieftain stated that his decision to contest for the presidency was informed by the economic meltdown and incessant killings in the country.

He said: “I am in this contest because I want to restore the lost glory of the country. I have come to see the people of the state and thank them for their support to me.

“The southeast region is important in this journey because we cannot do without them. I need your support.

“Election is not a do-or-die and my successor, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who is opposing my ambition should have a rethink and join me to better the welfare of Nigerians.

“The only hurdle before us is the primary election. I assure you, if I am able to win the primaries, winning the main election will not be difficult because I know I will win.”

He called on the federal government to show more concern towards the governed, as he lamented over the recent killings in the country.

The senator also commended the Hausa community for coming out in large numbers to welcome him.

Speaking at the occasion, Ndiche lauded the senator for making time for the visit despite his busy schedule and assured him that Anambra state would support his ambition.

A Non-Govermental Organisation, Kwankwasiyya Pillars of the Nation (KPN), threw its support behind Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The group said the former governor's achievement was enough to instill confidence in people that he can rule the country come 2019.

This statement was released by Comrade Ja’afar Ishaq Gadun-Albasa, who said that Nigeria needs a person of Kwankwaso's calibre and achievement in 2019

Ali Nuhu And Adam Zango Finally Reconcile

Two of Kannywood‘s biggest stars Adam Zango and Ali Nuhu, have been reconciled.

The two had fallen apart, at first in 2015, when Rahama Sadau accused Zango on her Instagram page of demanding sexual favours to feature her in his film, Duniya Makaranta.

But it was widely believed that Sadau, an associate of Nuhu, made that allegation because of the rivalry between Nuhu and Zango.

However, months after, they reconciled the two actors fell out again in 2017.

The recent reconciliation, according to Premium Times, took place in Kano before the chairman of the Kano State Censorship Board, Ismaila Afakallahu Na’abba.

Gone, but not forgotten. 42 Years After Murtala Mohammed Was Killed.

Early in the afternoon on Saturday, February 14, 1976 it was announced in the radio by a senior army officer saying, “The Supreme Military Council announces with the deepest regret the death of His Excellency the Head of the Federal Military Government, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Murtala Mohammed.”

Everyone around burst into tears. That evening new Head of State Lt. General Obasanjo said in his broadcast, “The late Head of State was shot yesterday on his way to the office. His ADC, Lt Akinfehinwa, his orderly and driver who were with him in the car were also killed.”

Murtala Mohamed ruled Nigeria for only 200 days but they were the most action-filled, most dynamic, probably the most impactful six months in Nigeria’s history. Those six months spewed more quotable quotes than any other in our history and as students, we learnt our toughest and sternest words from Murtala.

Murtala, as Nigerians called him, almost never smiled; he spoke forcefully and always used the sternest words. Unlike other soldiers, Murtala did not tuck his army jacket in his trousers. He let it hang loose over the trousers and then tightened both with a large belt. His army cap extended well over his face and mostly covered his eyes, enhancing his menacing posture.

The man who was known in his Barewa College, Zaria days as Murtala Kurawa was announced by Radio Nigeria on July 29, 1975 as “the new Head of State Brigadier Murtala Rufa’i Mohamed.” Days later, Supreme Headquarters announced that he had changed his name to Murtala Ramat Mohamed, inserting his mother’s name in the middle, a most unusual practice in Nigeria.

In his very first national broadcast on July 30, 1975 Murtala began his reign with sternly bombastic language. He ended his speech by saying, “This government will not tolerate indiscipline. This government will not condone abuse of office.” Over the next six months many more phrases entered the national vocabulary such as “with immediate effect,” “sacked,”  “booted out,” “deadwoods” etc.

On the day he created new states Murtala said, “This is a one time operation and future agitations on this matter will not be tolerated.” Even as people were celebrating their new states Murtala said, “This government will not tolerate any threat to law and order.

Neither will the government condone any emotional outbursts or provocative demonstration or celebration by any individual or group in support or against the creation of states in any part of the country.”

In his very first broadcast Murtala shocked us no end by cancelling the 1973 census, postponing FESTAC, retiring every military officer above the rank of Brigadier and dissolving the North’s Interim Common Services Agency [ICSA] as well as the East’s Eastern States Interim Assets and Liabilities Agency, ESIALA.

He later followed up by taking over Ahmadu Bello University [ABU] and New Nigerian Newspapers from ICSA, as well as 60% of the privately owned Daily Times.

The Murtala era is probably most remembered for The Great Purge. Thousands of federal and state civil servants as well as workers in major corporations such as Nigeria Airways, Nigeria Railways, NEPA, Nigeria Ports Authority, P&T, foreign service, universities, police, Customs, Immigration and the armed forces were compulsorily retired and in some cases dismissed for reasons including inefficiency, corruption and abuse of office.

The Army’s retirement list was headed by Col Anthony Aboki Ochefu, Military Governor of East Central State and it included the Chief Imam of the Army and the Chief Chaplain of the Army.

Almost no day passed without a screaming newspaper headline announcing that so and so agency had “booted out” dozens or hundreds of workers. In later years, old Nigerian civil servants almost unanimously claim that Murtala’s purge enhanced rather than combated corruption in the civil service because it destroyed civil servants’ tenure security. That’s the claim.

Agitation for state creation had reached a crescendo in the late Gowon era and Murtala appointed a committee headed by Justice Ayo Irikife which advised the Supreme Military Council on the matter.

On February 3, 1976 Murtala created seven new states namely Niger, Bauchi, Gongola, Benue, Ogun, Ondo and Imo. He also renamed North Central to Kaduna State, Mid-Western to Bendel State and South Eastern to Cross River State.

In the late Gowon era there was also a lot of national discussion about the need to relocate the Federal capital from Lagos, which was highly congested with its notorious go-slow traffic.

In September 1975 Murtala appointed a panel headed by Justice Akinola Aguda. In his February 3, 1976 speech he announced the relocation of the Federal capital, saying the new site was chosen because of its “centrality, low population density, adequate water supply, land availability and use, physical planning convenience, security and multiple access possibilities.”

He also added that the new location does not fall within the territory of any of the three major ethnic groups.

Murtala was at his bombastic best when he announced the confiscation of assets of former rulers. He said, “Suffice it to say that of all the former military governors and the Administrator, East Central State, with the exception of two, were found to have grossly abused their offices and were guilty of several irregular practices.

Those of them who wore uniforms betrayed the ethics of their professions and they are a disgrace to those professions. They should be ashamed of themselves. They are therefore dismissed with ignominy and with immediate effect.”

Murtala firmly set the stage for the return to democratic rule. at a time when most of Africa was governed by sit-tight soldiers and civilian dictators, Murtala set up the Constitution Drafting Committee [CDC] led by Chief Rotimi Williams that drafted the 1979 Constitution.

Murtala also suggested to CDC to consider adopting the American-style presidential system, which came to pass.

African nationalists and old Communists like yours sincerely best remember Murtala Mohammed for his role on Angola. Portugal’s colonial rule in Angola collapsed after 500 years but a civil war erupted between the three major liberation movements namely FNLA led by Holden Roberto, UNITA led by Jonas Savimbi and the left-wing MPLA led by Agustinho Neto.

While Cuba and the Soviet Union supported MPLA, Mobutu Sese Seko, the CIA and South Africa’s apartheid regime supported FNLA and UNITA. Nigeria initially supported OAU’s position calling for a government of national unity.

As we learnt later, it was the Inspector General of Police MD Yusuf who brought the great Africanist historian Basil Davidson to see Obasanjo and Murtala and to explain the Angolan situation.

Murtala then called External Affairs Minister Colonel Joseph Garba, told him to disregard the pledge given to OAU and to immediately recognise MPLA. It was the biggest bombshell and the most courageous foreign policy act ever in Nigeria’s history.

It didn’t end there. When OAU convened an Extra-Ordinary Summit on Angola in January 1976, US President Gerald Ford sent a circular letter to all African heads of state and warned them against recognising MPLA.

Murtala published Ford’s letter and publicly rejected it. The next day Nigerian newspapers came out with banner headlines such as “To hell with America!” Murtala then went to the OAU Summit in Addis Ababa in a suit and smoking a pipe.

He delivered his most famous speech, “Africa has come of age.” He said Africa will “no longer accept dictates from any so-called superpower.”

Lt Colonel Bukar Suka Dimka was able to ambush and kill General Murtala Mohammed on February 13, 1976 because he lived outside Dodan Barracks and he drove to work in a single car with no motorcade or security escorts. That day was one of the saddest ever in Nigeria’s history.

Dimka was eventually arrested in the company of a female companion, at Friendship Hotel in Afikpo, in Eastern Nigeria.

Following a court-martial, Lieutenant Colonel Dimka and another 38 military officers and civilians were executed by firing squad .

Looking back today, it says much that Murtala enjoys perhaps the cleanest legacy of any Nigerian military leader.

Our failure to address that part of our history has played in his favour, as with many of his peers. But that takes nothing away from the work he did after.

Despite spending just over half a year in power, he left an imprint of dedication and empathy.

In return, Nigeria’s leaders have shown him love and appreciation.

He was the first Nigerian to have his depiction on Nigerian currency, specifically the 20 Naira note.

The International Airport in Lagos is also named Murtala Mohammed Airport in his honour.

In almost every city or state of the country, there are streets, parks, gardens, buildings and other monuments named after him.

We hope today that the military era of Nigeria’s past is gone, for good, but while we have the benefit of hindsight, we will look back at days like that fateful morning in February and think about what it could have been.

Super Eagles' World Cup jersies voted best in the world

Popular English news website, mirror.co.uk (The Mirror), has rated Nigeria’s 2018 World Cup kits the best among the 19 so far unveiled by the teams that are going to the mundial in Russia this summer

The news portal did a ranking of  the kits of all the 19 countries who have unveiled their World Cup kits and picked the Nigerian jersey as the best from the lot.

“It’s incredible, frankly, and is bound to turn us all into Super Eagles in the summer.”

The Super Eagles World Cup kits were unveiled in London by the manufacturer, Nike in London on Wednesday.

Some of the  other countries that have unveiled their jerseys are hosts Russia, Nigeria group foes; Argentina and Croatia, as well as Belgium, England, Switzerland and Uruguay.

Kelechi Iheanacho, Wlfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi and singer, Wizkid, on Wednesday in London, modeled Super Eagles new kits as they gear up for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi says the national team players would fall in love with the dazzling new jerseys for the Russia 2018 World Cup as he led the younger generation of Eagles players to the unveiling of the kits by Nike in London.

The dazzling bright green and white home shirts was launched by Arsenal forward, Alex Iwobi, alongside the duo of Leicester youngsters, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi.

In the 1 minute 20 seconds clip, Ndidi, Mikel, Iwobi and Iheanacho were shown giving their verdicts on the attire.

“I can see the players going crazy over this one,” Mikel said when he was shown the national side’s home shirt, in Nigeria’s famous dark green with an eye-catching neon logo.

Arsenal star Iwobi, told Nike’s official website; “I grew up in England, but Nigeria is my homeland. When I scored that goal, the players were dancing, the fans were playing trumpets and beating drums… there was just so much passion and energy.

‘It is always an honour to wear the white and green. To compete this summer is not just our dream, it is also the dream of our fans. Together, we all represent Naija.’

The kit manufacturers Nike said they wanted to ‘tap into the attitude of the nation’ with the design and aimed to build the kit based on the identities of the players.

Nike’s Nigeria shirts are part of a collection which features Fast Fit Vapotknit technology to aide the athlete’s performance.

Despite the mixed reaction, the kit’s similarity to the iconic shirts worn by the nation’s Golden Generation in their maiden World Cup campaign in the United States in 1994 should earn it major points for nostalgia among Super Eagles supporters.

Parents of Tottenham star Dele Alli , in tearful plea for the star to accept them back into his life

The estranged parents of Tottenham Hotspur and England star, Dele Alli are pleading for the superstar to accept them back in his life, after they had abandoned the footballer.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder is born to a Nigerian father, Kehinde Alli, a multi-millionaire businessman and British mother, Denise who both abandoned him when he was still a child.

He was born in Milton Keynes, Bucks, in April 1996 just over a year after his parents first met in a nightclub. At the time Kehinde was studying for a Masters at De Montfort University.

He and Denise, then a full-time mum of two, married after a whirlwind romance and broke up three years after Dele was born.

In this heartbroken interview with Mirror, the estranged pair came together to speak about the ordeal in a desperate bid to rebuild their relationship with their son, who earns £60,000-a-week.

Dele’s mum Denise who couldn’t contain her tears narrates how she now cries herself to sleep at night over the ordeal, while his father explains that only thing missing in his life is his first-born son.

Kehinde, 47, told the Sunday Mirror: “I just do not understand what we have done wrong.

He refuses to speak to me and it feels like he’s been taken from us. But I won’t give up on getting him back.”

Dele’s mum Denise, 53, added: “I’m a very miserable person because I get so sad that Dele is missing out on his family and we’re missing out on him.

“I want to be able to hug him and let him know we all love him to bits.

“I’m not interested in his money, I’d love him the same if he worked in McDonald’s. We just want our son back.”

According to reports, the former couple have not been able to see him since he signed for Tottenham in February 2015.

Recalling him leaving, Denise said: “He was in great spirits and said, ‘I love you mum’. I had no idea that would be the last time I would see him. It still leaves me shocked.”

It was also reported that Ali was best man at his dad’s second wedding to Lola in 2006, at that time, he was living with his dad in Houston, Texas.

At the age of 11, Ali returned to England to leave with his mom in Milton Keynes, where he started his football career with junior side City Colts.

Kehinde says: “It was hard for me to let him go but I knew it was the best thing for him and his ambition.”

Denise added: “When he was about 13 Dele began training at MK Dons five days a week. So for convenience he began staying at his best friend’s house during the week, before coming home at weekends. It was hard to let him live away from home, but we didn’t have a car and I was finding it hard to get him to training myself.

“It has been said that I was suffering from alcoholism and I gave him up because I couldn’t look after him, but that is a lie. I wanted to give him the best chance of achieving his dream, but he was still my son and I was there for him whenever he needed me.

“He was never adopted by his friend’s parents – I would not have allowed it. My kids are my world.”

The heartbroken mother also recalled the last time she tried to talk to him outside Tottenham’s White Hart Lane stadium after a match there last year.

Denise recalls: “I didn’t have a ticket for the game but I went to the ground because I wanted to try and see Dele.

“I waited outside after the match and when Dele came out I quietly said to him. ‘Dele… it’s me… your mum’.

“He didn’t stop. He just looked at me, said he was busy and drove off. I was in tears, it was heartbreaking.

“Some fans who had overheard asked if I was really his mum and why he was treating me like that. I told them, ‘I just don’t know’.”

“When I got home I had a call from a man who said he represented Dele. He accused me of shouting to Dele, which I didn’t, and said if I tried to do it again I’d be banned from the ground for life. It was horrible.”

Kehinde also explained his own encounter, saying he repeatedly made the 5,000-mile journey to London from his home in Houston, trying to reunite the family. He said he bought tickets for a couple of Spurs games home and away just so he can see Dele in the flesh and support him, including at the club’s 1-0 win over Middlesbrough earlier this month.

Kehinde says: “Not being able to see or speak to him hurts a lot. Myself and his brothers watch all his games on TV and they ask me, ‘Why won’t he see us?’

“Dele has apparently told his sister I was never there for him growing up, but I can’t understand that. He lived with me for years and I have always been there for him both emotionally and financially.

Up until he was an adult I paid for every holiday he ever went on and all his costs. I bought him his first car when he passed his driving test. Now he is turning his back on the family who love him.”

Kehinde adds: “I know some people will think we just want him for his money, but it couldn’t be further from the truth. I’m very wealthy in my own right and I don’t need a penny from Dele.

“I just want to be here for him and for him to know that I love him.”

Denise, who still cuddles Dele’s childhood Chelsea FC bedspread to feel close to him, says: “Every night I say a prayer asking for God to bring him back to us. I dream about him coming home.”

Last season, Dele decided to remove his surname ” Alli” from the back of his jersey, saying he felt “no connection” to the name.

The Arsenal playmaker has signed a new three-year deal at the Emirates.
Mesut Ozil has revealed the one thing that finally convinced him to sign his new Arsenal contract .

Negotiations over a new deal for the German dragged on for well over a year and the expectation was that Ozil would move on in the summer.

But, just five months before his deal was due to expire, Ozil decided to extend his stay in north London - penning an extension which will keep him at the Emirates until 2021.

The deal will see the former Real Madrid man become the highest paid player in Arsenal's history, with £350,000 a week.
But when explaining why he had decided to sign on at the Emirates, Ozil insisted in the end it all came down to how he felt in his heart.

"It's been one of the most important decisions of my footballing career and that's why I had to think hard and talk with everyone who's important to me," said the 28-year-old.

"Good things take time! In the end I let my heart decide. As I always said, I feel at home here and I'm highly motivated to achieve big things in the next few years. Once a Gunner, always a Gunner!"

The former Real Madrid man finally put Arsenal fans out of their misery , confirming the news they had all been waiting for by posted a picture of himself signing the contract with Arsene Wenger on Instagram.

Ozil's former contract was due to expire in the summer and many expected the 29-year-old to follow Alexis Sanchez out of the Emirates exit doors.

The playmaker has always maintained he is happy in London but it was known that many of Europe's top club were keeping tabs on his contract situation.

Reports in Germany have suggested that Ozil rejected moves to three different European giants, as well as a money spinning offer from China before committing his future to Arsenal.

SportBild claim that the attacker turned down interest from Manchester United, Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain to stay at the Emirates.

He also turned his back on an offer from Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande which would have seen him pocket an incredible £22 million a year.

The news come as a huge boost to Arsene Wenger following on from the high profile additions of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the January transfer window.

Speaking about the possibility of securing an extension with Ozil, Wenger suggested last that the signs were positive of a breakthrough in negotiations.
"Our intention is to keep Ozil at the club ," said the Arsenal boss.

Ozil signed for Arsenal from Real Madrid in 2012. The assist he produced for Nacho Monreal's goal in the 3-1 defeat at Swansea was his 49th in an Arsenal shirt, more than any other player has clocked up during that period in the Premier League.

How Messi Forced Neymar Out Of Barcelona - Dani Alves Opens Up

PSG superstar, Dani Alves has spoken out about how Neymar ended up leaving the world famous football club because of Lionel Messi.

It has been claimed that Neymar, the Paris St Germain forward left Barcelona in order to escape the shadow of Lionel Messi and increase Brazil’s chances of winning this year’s World Cup.

Reuters reports that this claim was made by his club and country team mate Dani Alves.

Neymar became the world’s most expensive footballer in August when he completed a 222 million-euro ($276 million) transfer from Barcelona to PSG.

The 25-year-old finished third behind Messi and Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2017 Ballon d‘Or.

“I think he’s (Neymar) up there with (Lionel) Messi as the most influential player in world football. The thing is, he had to come out of his shadow a little,” Alves told FIFA’s website. (www.fifa.com)

”Playing with someone as unique as Leo is the most incredible thing that can happen to you, but there’s always that doubt in your mind if it’s you that really has the quality or if it’s him.

“It was important for Ney’s own development and for Brazil for him to follow his own path.”

PSG have opened an 11-point gap at the top of Ligue 1, with Neymar contributing 17 goals and 11 assists.

However, Alves believes Neymar’s main objective this season is to deliver PSG’s first Champions League title.

“It’s our main goal. It’s what Neymar was thinking when he left Barca and it’s what I was thinking when I left Juventus. That’s what moves us,” he added.

“We’re ready to compete and the question of whether that preparation leads us to victory or elimination is going to depend on how we work as a team.”

PSG resume their European campaign on Feb. 14 in the first leg of a mouth-watering last-16 tie against holders Real Madrid.
